HEY BEAR FISHING
Hey Bear Fishing was born out of the lifelong camaraderie among a
group of friends who, from childhood, shared a deep connection with
the great outdoors. Our journey together, marked by adventurous
exploits and exploration, transformed what was once described as mere
'best friendship' into a bond we now proudly call family. From our
early years as kids hiking through the wilderness to fishing every
body of water within reach and hunting game to provide for our
families, we forged connections that grew stronger amidst the rugged
outdoors. This shared love and experience prompted us to realize it
was time to bring our passion to a broader audience. Thus, Hey Bear
Fishing was founded, with the intention of sharing the joys we've
found in a lifetime of outdoor pursuits with the world. Here at Hey
Bear Fishing, we aim to extend the borders of our family, inviting
others to join us in our experiences, knowledge, and excitement for
angling. So, keep your lines tight, but your friendships tighter.
WHY HEY BEAR?
Walking around the lakes and rivers of Northern Michigan, you get use to traveling with all sorts of creatures around you. One of those creatures you very well may encounter is the black bear. So at a young age, we got into the habit of saying "Hey Bear" as we walked the woods and waters, just to make sure they knew we were sharing their space. Now no matter where we go, you can catch us chanting "Hey Bear" back and forth to the wild itself.

Ever since I was a little kid growing up in Michigan, the outdoors was where I felt the most comfortable. It started ice fishing with my pops at just 3 years old when he used to scoot me out on a sled while he let me sleep just a little longer. Over time that became early morning trout fishing trips, salmon runs on the river, and bass fishing from the bank. When we weren’t sitting with a line in the water, we were in the tree stand dreaming for a trophy buck, pushing rabbits, or quietly waiting for Canadian geese to fly overhead. That passion flowed into my friendships with the men I now call my brothers and who now make up Hey Bear Fishing. If we weren’t playing sports we were on the lake or in the woods, and that has continued until this very day. Now being based in ATX I have found a brand new passion to take those 25 years + and apply it to some of the most amazing bass fishing you will find in the entire world. I hope to share that same love and passion with all of our new friends here in the Hey Bear Fishing family, Tight lines!

Growing up in Sanford, Michigan I was surrounded by many hunting, fishing, and trapping opportunities. From fishing and duck hunting on Sanford Lake in the early mornings before school, to traveling across the country in search of new outdoor adventures, it’s obvious that the passion for hunting, fishing, and all things outdoors were successfully inherited from the previous generations of Michigan outdoorsmen. Today I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my wife and two children, eagerly waiting for the day to pass on the knowledge I've accumulated over 25 years of hunting and fishing.

Andy Best here with the Hey Bear Fishing Team. I grew up in Michigan where my father and grandfather got me hooked on fishing at the age of 5. From there in high-school my friends introduced me to hunting squirrels which then lead into bigger and bigger game animals. I currently love to fish for anything that swims but man do I love to ice fish more than the most. You can find me on the frozen great lakes dropping lines for walleye, perch, and monster pike. When it comes to hunting, I love to chase turkeys in the spring, but when the fall hits it’s time for black bear and white tail deer. Oh and did I mention that every year as soon as the salmon run hits you can catch me in the river float for those silver beasts. Thanks for checking us out and as always Tight Lines fellow anglers!

My youth was spent traveling... a lot. Pops was in the service and Mom was finding work wherever we landed. I can't say I had much consistency in my adolescent years apart from no matter where we were, Pops and I would find a body of water. With our spiral rod holders and a small army of worms he and I would watch bobbers and cast until the day ran thin.
Fishing has been a staple in my life not just for the sporting aspect but the camaraderie it brought. I spend the majority of my life bank fishing with no aspirations for anything more... until my first kayak outing. My buddy introduced me to the paddle life and to this day I can't thank him enough. The people I have met, the experiences I’ve had, and the fish I’ve caught. Needless to say "I was Hooked!" (see what I did there) That was 11 years ago when I put my first paddle to pond.
Getting to share a passion with guys like these has been an absolute blessing. Each one of these anglers and outdoors men I get to share the water and wilderness with have helped grow my game beyond the casual experience. The adventures we've had laid a foundation for what we are so excited to share with all of you. Simple professionals, great people with good hearts and a passion to deliver what we hope is a motivation booster or just a laugh to those who stop by.
